NORWAY — Norway Savings Bank has received two American Bankers Association's 2009 Financial Marketing Awards, a top national honor for financial marketing.

Recipient of the Financial Marketing Excellence Award, the bank was deemed to have the best marketing campaign overall. This award, bestowed annually since 1972 by the American Bankers Association, recognizes bank marketing professionals and their agencies for creative excellence.

The Colorful Solutions Award recognized the bank's branding campaign. This campaign consisted of six television, five radio and six print advertisements showcasing Norway customers, each of them representing a color and creating a consistent point of view throughout the campaign.

Created by Leslie Evans Design Associates of Portland, the ads featured Mike Skillin, chief financial officer at Skillin's Greenhouses; fashion designer Jill McGowan of Jill McGowan Inc.; Andy Charles, owner of Haven's Candies; Debi Irons, founder and director of Art Moves Dance Studio; Peter McAleney, owner of New Meadows Lobster; and Gail and Terry Bragg of Falmouth.

"This is a wonderful honor to receive the top overall award for our brand advertising efforts," said Karen Hakala, senior vice president at Norway Savings Bank. "We are thrilled to be recognized for the creativity and ingenuity that went into this campaign."
