Until today, I did not know that coffee grinds and tea bags make great composting material. Basically, you can throw your used coffee grounds (filter and all!) and tea bags right into your compost container, or even place them directly onto your plants or garden. Coffee grounds and tea bags (complete with the filter and bags) break down into just the right combination of carbon and nitrogen that your plants will love. You can also mix grounds and eggshells to repel pests. By Sarah Reidy For more info on what Maine businesses are doing to be more eco-friendly, see the MaineBusiness.com green guide.
