Slow Food dinner and Allagash beer dinner headline entry into holiday season

Portland, ME—Portland restaurants Cinque Terre and Vignola have announced two unique opportunities to celebrate local food and drink. Cinque Terre will host a special dinner on November 18 as part of a nationwide Slow Food book release, and Vignola will host its annual Allagash Brewing Company dinner on November 19.

Slow Food Dinner at Cinque Terre
Cinque Terre (www.cinqueterremaine.com) hosts a dinner celebrating the debut of Douglas Gayeton's new book, Slow: Life in a Tuscan Town, and honoring the tradition of fresh local produce.

The evening features a four-course menu, inspired by the book, with superb wine pairings to complement each course. Each guest receives a copy of the book as well as a limited edition commemorative bookplate signed by the author. The dinner begins with a small reception at 6 p.m., including a brief video clip.

Location: Cinque Terre, 36 Wharf Street, Portland
Date and Time: Wednesday, November 18 – 6 p.m.
Cost: $145 per couple, or $85 per person (tax and gratuity not included)

Fourth Annual Allagash Tasting Dinner at Vignola
Vignola (www.vignolamaine.com) hosts its fourth annual celebration of the beers of Allagash Brewing Company on November 19. Allagash owner Rob Tod and brewmaster Jason Perkins will discuss their craft brews, brewing processes, and how to pair beer with food.

The six-course dinner, with beer pairings, includes two beers that are no longer available to the general public. This is the perfect event for any beer lover, or anyone curious about learning about beer pairings.

Location: Vignola, 10 Dana Street, Portland
Date and Time: Thursday, November 19 – 6 p.m.
