Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Maine Board of Directors Adds Two New Members and Elects Officers

Bangor, Maine – The Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) of Maine Board of Directors met recently to appoint new members and elect officers. Since its founding in 1989, RMHC of Maine has granted more than $1.5 million to local organizations that help children and their families lead happier, healthier and more productive lives.

The RMHC of Maine Board elected Gary Eckmann of Bangor to the position of President. A founding member of RMHC of Maine, Eckmann also serves as Grant Administrator. He is an owner/operator of eight McDonald’s® restaurants in Bangor, Brewer, Millinocket and Dover-Foxcroft. In 2008, he was honored for his 45 years of service to McDonald’s.

Outgoing Board President Sheila Peabody, a resident of Yarmouth and former Maine McDonald’s Owner/Operator, was named Vice President of the Board. Wells resident Tom Perkins of Martin Brower, Inc. was elected to the position of Board Secretary. Roger Poulin of the certified public accounting firm, Baker Newman Noyes, was named Board Treasurer.

Newly appointed RMHC of Maine board members are Mary Bertolet of Yarmouth and Dan Coker of Brunswick. An attorney, Bertolet is a Portland Ronald McDonald House® volunteer and serves as Vice President of its Board of Directors. Coker also volunteers at the Portland Ronald McDonald House and is a former guest of the House. In addition, he is a member of the Portland Ronald McDonald House Board of Directors.

Bertolet and Coker join board members Joe Breisacher of Brunswick, Janice Hamilton of South Paris, Susan Soule of Falmouth and Rhonda Sprague of Glenburn.
