New Hosts for “Inside Maine Business” Television Show

Released 10/2/09

“Inside Maine Business,” a television program produced in the studios of Ursus Media, will be re-launched statewide on the Time Warner Cable Network on October 3rd with Kim Lindlof and Steve Wallace as co-hosts.
Said Ursus Media Executive Producer Harry Vanderweide, “We are delighted that Kim and Steve have agreed to host this program because these two high-profile business leaders bring an extraordinary level of knowledge of the issues facing Maine businesses today. It is our intention to produce a show that helps Maine businesses solve problems. Our pre-production work on the show has demonstrated that is exactly what Steve and Kim can accomplish.”
Lindlof is president and CEO of the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce in the greater Waterville area, as well as a director of the Kennebec Valley Tourism Council and the Maine State Chamber of Commerce. With a BS degree in marketing management from Thomas College, she is active in over a dozen business-related organizations in Maine.
Explaining her decision to co-host the show Lindlof said, "Co-hosting “Inside Maine Business” allows the Mid-Maine Chamber to highlight issues and celebrate successes that affect our economy statewide. We are delighted to be a part of it."
Wallace is the recently named president and executive director of the Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber of Commerce (SMMC). Representing over 700 businesses, the SMMC is one of Maine’s largest chambers of commerce.
Prior to his new position, Wallace served as executive director of the Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce and Director of the Workforce Training, Base Realignment and Closure Center at the Brunswick Naval Air Station. He has over 26 years of operations, human resources, program management, business consulting and military service experience.
Wallace said his goal as co-host of “Inside Maine Business” is “to identify issues and make recommendations that will turn Maine’s unfriendly business climate into one of the best in the nation.”
Vanderweide said, “In keeping with Steve’s goal of helping business, we chose Andrew Nelson, director of consulting services for CB Richard Ellis, The Boulos Company, in Portland as the first “Inside Maine Business” guest of the season. Drawing upon Andy’s deep knowledge of Maine business conditions, Steve and Kim were able to delve deeply into the challenges our state faces in commercial real estate. That’s the quality of information we expect to provide in each edition of the show.”
“Inside Maine Business” is seen statewide on Time Warner Cable, Channel 9. The program airs Saturdays at 7:30 a.m., Sundays at 6 p.m., Mondays at 3 p.m., Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. It joins Ursus Media’s other shows, “Wildfire,” “The Maine Show,” “Northeast Journal” and “It’s the Law.” “Inside Maine Business” can also be seen on Time Warner’s VOD1 On Demand channel at any time as well as on the Internet at: www.insidemainebusiness.tv.
