While watching television at home have you ever noticed just how many commercials there are for insurance companies. During an hour show I can count at least three times that I witness a commercial about insurance. Everyone is saying that they can save you money and have catchy phrases or intriguing mascots.

In today’s rapidly changing world young professionals need to make sure that they are adequately protecting their future. What these commercials don’t tell you is what you have to lose if you should harm someone in an automobile accident or at your residence. While cost savings is great, and in this economy every dollar counts, is it worth saving a few dollars if you do not have adequate insurance coverage? Have you protected your assets such as equity in your home, personal property, financial accounts or savings plans, the possible loss of a percentage of your income or any other assets that you may have accumulated?

There are a few reasons to choose an independent insurance agency (like Norton Insurance & Financial Services). An independent agent is able to utilize the resources and expertise of multiple insurance companies. Where one company may not have a plan that fits your budget and provides the best benefit package for your needs, an independent agent can address these needs and place you with the company that is the best fit for your overall exposure. Independent insurance agents can give advice on many different insurance companies not just advise you of the features or benefits of a specific insurance plan or company. If you become dissatisfied with your insurance plan for any reason then your agent can look at many other options that fit your needs.

So next time you see a commercial for insurance on television ask yourself if you are getting the best option for your needs. Most likely the companies offered by your local independent insurance agent you may never see on television as most of them do not do a lot of advertising, thus keeping your costs down. However, independently offered insurance companies have packages that may have a better rate and also provide you with a better benefit package for your needs. So if you have not done any investigating into what you are paying for insurance now you may want to put down the remote and give your local independent insurance agent (such as Norton Insurance & Financial Services) a call for a free insurance review.
