Released 11/3/09The Portland Regional Chamber is pleased to announce that Portland Police Chief James Craig will speak at Eggs & Issues on Wednesday, November 4th at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland. Doors for the event open at 7:00 a.m. for breakfast and networking and the program will begin at 8:00 a.m.
Craig will discuss Portland’s crime issues and how it affects the community. He’ll also share his vision and ideas for law enforcement in the city.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Craig’s career in policing spans over 30 years in numerous positions and began in his hometown.
In 1981, he moved to Los Angeles, where he spent 28 years of service (six years at the command level) rising through the rank of Captain.
In May, 2009, he started his new position as Police Chief of Portland.
Chief Craig will speak to a large crowd of Portland’s business leaders.
Eggs & Issues is one of the Chamber’s most popular events. The morning breakfast is held each month (except July and August) and invites a speaker to address current issues of the region. This season marks the 26th anniversary.
